Oh Shit, Not Again!
"Oh Shit, Not Again" is definitely the worst book ever to hit Indian bookstores. Filled to the brim and overflowing with banality, this book by Mandar Kokate is a supposed "National Best Seller". It makes you wonder, what is a national best seller.
I would not recommend this even for torture as it might result in death due to agony. Freaking 3 hours of my life wasted on this absurdity.

Anticipating CFA results
CFA results are going to be declared by the 17. Real tense at my end. It is going to determine whether the 3 months of slogging were of any use or not.
Other than that, had to work on both days of the weekend. Really tough to appreciate independence day in such circumstances.

CFA done. Time for XBOX 360 :)
After slogging it for nearly a month, I appeared for the CFA Level III exam on Jun 7 in Mumbai. Got to meet a lot of friends/batch mates/old acquittance at the center, though briefly. The exam did go better than last time. I will be devastated if I don't clear this level.
Post CFA, planning to catch up on my gaming which has been neglected for some time now. Got an XBOX 360 at home and have completed Halo 3 campaign last week. Halo 3 is fun to play with. Planning to start call of duty soon.

Gulaal
Watched the movie Gulaal by Anurag Kashyap. Some parts of the plot does not make sense especially the part played by Jesse Randhawa. The role/character of Abhimanyu Singh (Ransa) is well etched out. The song "Ranaji" has some of the most amazing lyrics that I have heard in recent times.

The wedding
On Feb 27, one of my oldest friends, in a bout of madness, got married (Oldest here means a person I know from a long time). So Saif, a couple of cousins of the groom and myself formed a gang and started loafing around. So there we were, all four of us, running to dhabhas mid-afternoon to snatch a drink and some chicken 65. Everything seemed fine till the time of Baraat, supposed to start at 6 PM. The gang decided that it was the appropriate time for a swim and a couple of beers.
Hell broke loose!!! Had to face hundreds of snide remarks from the grooms family about how the swimming pool was. :(

The pain continues
There seems to be no respite for this back problem. Now, I am struck in office with a sore back.

Back problem
Second time that I have been confined to bed. Though it gives me a break from work, it also does depresses me that I might have to restrict a lot of activities at least for 2009.

crazy night
The last long weekend (i.e. 24th jan to 26 jan), I had to travel to Badrachalam as the government was acquiring ancestral land (Nandigarm - not the Bengal one) for a irrigation project. So I was on a APSRTC overnight bus from Hyderabad to Badrachalam on the 24th. I had a real crazy dream in which a taxi driver in Mumbai was kidnapping me after drugging me. So around 2 AM in the night, I shouted "M********", punched the seat in front of me, scared the girls in the front row out of her wits and couldn't sleep for the rest of the journey.
